How do I return an item?

Returns & Exchanges Policy

First things first: thank you so much for supporting our small, independent studio. Every piece is made with love, intention, and a whole lot of sparkle, and we truly want you to feel fully fabulous in your purchase.

If you ever need guidance before placing an order, please reach out via our contact form or chat box — we’re always happy to help you choose the perfect piece.


Returns – The Important Bits

Because we are a very small business producing limited runs, we do have firm but fair return policies in place (sadly, experience has taught us this is necessary).

You must notify us within 48 hours of receiving your order if you would like to request a return or exchange by emailing sales@juliaclancey.com.

Once approved, items must be returned within 7 days of notification.


❌ Non-Returnable Items (Final Sale)

The following items cannot be returned under any circumstances:

  • All headwear, including Bloom Bands, turbans, flower bands, and all hair accessories
    To protect the comfort and hygiene of all our clients, headwear items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged once shipped. Thank you for your understanding and support of our small studio.

  • All items marked FINAL SALE

  • All bespoke / custom-made pieces

  • All purchases made at Pop-Ups, Showrooms, private appointments, or events

  • Discounted items (see exchange notes below)

Thank you for understanding — this protects both our clients and our makers 🤍


Hygiene & Condition Policy

Returned items must be:

  • Unworn, unused, and in original condition

  • Free from perfume, makeup, deodorant, smoke, or damage

  • Returned in original packaging

We use security ribbons on all products.
If these are cut, tampered with, or reattached, the return will not be accepted.

Any items returned worn, damaged, or scented will be politely refused and sent back to you.


Shipping, Responsibility & Reality Checks

  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable

  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer

  • We strongly recommend tracked postage with signature

  • We are not responsible for items lost in transit

  • If you request your parcel be left in a “safe place,” responsibility transfers to the recipient (karma is watching ✨)

  • If you miss deliveries or do not collect from UPS we do not accept responsibility .

For international returns, we highly recommend DHL, UPS, or FedEx.
Unfortunately, Royal Mail international services have proven unreliable.


Overseas Orders & Refused Deliveries

  • Refused deliveries on international orders are non-refundable

  • Return shipping fees can be up to 4x the value of the order, and parcels are often lost in transit

We know this sounds strict, but it protects us from costs that small businesses simply can’t absorb.


Multiple Item Orders

As we carry very limited stock per style, when ordering multiple sizes or styles of the same garment:

  • We can refund up to two items

  • Any additional returns will be issued as store credit

If you need help choosing, please contact us — we love helping you get it right the first time.


Exchanges

We’re happy to offer exchanges on eligible items:

  • Must be requested within 48 hours of delivery

  • Item must be returned within 7 days

  • Subject to availability

Discounted items are final sale, however we’re happy to offer:

  • An exchange or

  • A store credit / gift voucher

Please contact us before purchasing to access special industry pricing and arrangements.

A 5% restocking fee applies to returned items.
If multiple items are pulled without notification, restocking fees will be deducted accordingly.


Care Notes (Please Read)

  • All pieces are hand embroidered — no two are ever exactly the same

  • Handle with love, care, and common sense

  • Pleated garments must be returned folded exactly as sent
